The Rishonim explain that it is permitted for a king and a kallah to wash their face on Yom Kippur because מן התורה it is only forbidden to wash ones entire body.

However we all know the opinion of R' Yochanan that חצי שיעור אסור מן התורה according to which it should be Assur to wash even part of ones body!

Please help me.

Why did the Rabbis not decree to refrain from performing Bris Milah on Shabbos lest one carry the Milah utensils in the public domain [as with shofar]?

It says in the Torah regarding the mitzva to take the arba minim:ולקחתם לכם פרי עץ הדר the lashon is לקיחה. So why is the bracha על נטילת לולב and not על לקיחת לולב? [The gemara already explains why we make the bracha relates to the lulav and not the other minim. My question relates to the lashon נטילה and not לקיחה as the pasuk states.]

Please help me.

The Rambam in the beginning of Hilchos Teshuva says that קבלה על להבא [accepting upon oneself not to sin in the future] is an integral componenet of teshuva and vidui.

The problem is that when describing the vidui of the Kohen Gadol [פ"ב ה"ו מהל' יום הכיפורים] on yom kippur קבלה על להבא is not mentioned!! It is also omitted from the vidui of the the Jewish people on yom kippur [הל' תשובה פ"ב ה"ח ]. See also או"ח סימן תר"ז סעיף ג ברמ"א.

The Sifri on this weeks parsha says that as a reward for bringing the Bikkurim we will enter Eretz Yisrael.

Beautiful.

The only problem is that we only start bringing the Bikkurim AFTER we enter the land.

There is a Talmudic principle-כל פסוק דלא פסקיה משה אנן לא פסקינן if Moshe Rabbenu did not stop in the middle of a pasuk we are not allowed to either. In other words we are not allowed to read half a pasuk.

Why then do we end the י"ג מדות הרחמים [said during selichos] with the word ונקה-right smack in the middle of a pasuk.

In shemoneh esrei we say מלך עוזר ומושיע ומגן.

In עזרת אבותינו we say אתה הוא מגן ומושיע - what happened to the עוזר [if you think about it for a minute you will figure out the answer]? And why is the מגן before the מושיע?

Please help (עוזר!!) me.

The Rambam writes in the שורש ראשון of the Sefer Hamitzvos that it is a mistake to think that קבורת המת is a mitzva midioraisa. Then, in mitzva רל"א the Rambam writes that קבורת המת is a mitzva midioraisa!!!!

Please help me.
